On 15 July 2026, suspected Military forces of Sudan were accused of conducting a drone strike inside the open-pit gold mining site owned by the Canadian Allied Gold Mine company in Kirmuk (Kurmuk, Asosa, Benshangul/Gumuz), killing an unspecified number of the company workers and 1 bulldozer driver (fatalities uncorroborated). The drone strike burned one dozer. Fatalities coded as 4 (unspecified number of fatalities coded as 3 + 1 bulldozer driver killed during the drone strike).
