The military last Saturday used gyrocopters to bomb Monhla village northwest of Khin Oo town in Sagaing Region, the hometown of Cardinal Charles Maung Bo, a Burmese Catholic who is close to the coup leader. A 60-year-old woman was burned to death and two other civilians were seriously injured, according to locals.

This is the third time in four years that the military has destroyed Mon Hla village. On July 18, 2022, it was bombed by helicopters, and on March 28, 2024, the military burned down about 70 civilian homes, according to locals.
