Troops launch rescue operation after two abducted in Plateau kidnapping attack

Troops of Sector 1 of Operation Enduring Peace  in collaboration with the Nigeria Police and local vigilantes, have launched a rescue operation following the abduction of two civilians by suspected kidnappers in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 11:10 p.m. on July 26 at Gura Top community.

The sources said troops swiftly responded to a distress call in conjunction with police personnel and vigilante members. However, on arrival at the scene, it was discovered that the kidnappers had already fled with two victims after attacking the area.

Three other civilians sustained injuries during the incident and were evacuated to the Nigerian Air Force Hospital in Jos for medical treatment.

Security forces have since commenced efforts to track down the kidnappers and secure the safe rescue of the abducted victims, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
