A Russian Su-57 fifth-generation fighter jet crashed during a training flight in the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region on Thursday, News.Az reported, citing the Kyiv Post.
According to Russian Telegram channels, the pilot ejected safely before the aircraft went down, and no casualties on the ground have been reported.
The fighter crashed near the town of Zvenigorod. Eyewitnesses told Russian outlet Astra that the aircraft exploded after the pilot ejected.
"The plane crashed, and the parachute was visible nearby," local residents told Astra.
The cause of the crash has not yet been disclosed by Russian authorities.
The Su-57 is Russia's most advanced fifth-generation multirole fighter. It made its maiden flight in 2010, but serial production was delayed for years before entering limited service.
