On August 26, five persons were killed and another one injured after suspected militants, belonging to the Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA), fired indiscriminately at seven trucks and set them ablaze in Dima Hasao District of Assam, reports Hindustan Times. According to sources, trucks loaded with cement, coal and other materials, were on their way to a cement factory at Umrangso inDima Haso District when they were stopped at Diyungbra at around 8.30 PM on Thursday and attacked by the group. A cement factory’s refusal to yield to the DNLA’s extortion demands recently may have probably triggered the attack.
