Man stabs private security guard with a knife at gate 3 of FMI housing estate in Hlaing Tharyar Township

Yangon, 24 July

Yangon Region, A private security guard was stabbed by an intruder while conducting entry and exit checks at Gate 3 of the FMI housing estate in Hlaing Tharyar Township today, 24th July, at around midday. A stabbing incident occurred, according to local residents. The security guard at Gate 3 of the FMI housing estate in Thakyin Township was at the gate,  It is understood that while conducting routine checks on people entering and leaving, an argument broke out with an individual from outside, after which the man stabbed the security guard in the chest and abdomen before fleeing the scene.

 A local resident said, " This incident shows how deteriorated the security situation has become, to the point where even security personnel on duty at a gate in a major city like Yangon, under the rule of Min Aung Hlaing, are being stabbed with a knife," a local resident told the Yangon Times. t" he told the Yangon Times news agency.

The perpetrator of the stabbing has since been arrested, but the condition of the injured security guard is not yet known.
