Major Nyein Thu Zaw Kha hit by gunfire in Natmauk, one person killed

The Nat Mauk PDF announced last night that a car driven by Major Nyin Htut Zaw of the Gwe Kone Communications Force, under the command of the violent military junta, was shot at in Nat Mauk Township, Man Aye Region, resulting in one fatality.

The Nat Mauk PDF stated that the shooting occurred on 21 July while its members were conducting a check on the Yamon-Zarapkone road in Nat Mauk Township.

A Nat Mauk PDF official said, ‘They didn't fire at the vehicle because they thought it was a civilian car, but as our comrades were stopping it again, they opened fire from inside with a pistol, so our comrades returned fire. They are now only using the roads towards Mandalay.’

At around half past four that afternoon, Major Nyin Htut Zaw of the Gwe Kone Communications Regiment, upon arriving at the Zarabyaung road section and seeing the revolutionary comrades conducting a check, reversed his vehicle and fled.

The ambush was laid by the Revolutionary Guards.

A commander of the Nat Mauk People's Defence Force said, ‘They came round the bend, saw our checkpoint and waited; while we were conducting a routine road check, they refused to stop and fled back.’

Major Nyein Chit Zaw opened fire, which led to a return fire. As a result, two members of the terrorist army, including Major Nyein Chit Zaw, were wounded and one was killed on the spot, according to Nat Mauk Pakae. the NDMPC said. The attack was carried out by the NDMPC.
