Heavy fighting near Saitzin village in Phakant Township

Kachin State, A local source told Red Peacock news media that people from villages in the surrounding areas of Sagaing Region and Kachin State are being forced to flee due to the intense fighting near Saitzin village in Phakant Township.

Heavy fighting is taking place near Saitzing village between the brutal military junta and KIA joint forces. The source added that the junta is also advancing on the village from Taung U and Chon Tawya.

The KIA-allied forces were unable to hold the village, which had already been subjected to arson and airstrikes by the junta.

On 9 August 2022, the terrorist military also torched nearly 400 homes and carried out airstrikes.

Villagers from Taung U, Suntou May, Rala Taw, Shwe Taung Lamin, and Pan Chet, situated on the border of Sagaing Region and Kachin State, are fleeing the conflict.

According to a statement by Data For Myanmar, over 110,000 homes have been burnt down in Myanmar since the 2021 coup.
