Terrorist military convoy suffers casualties in attack by KNLA and Red Tiger forces
Karen, 23 July
The Rebel Brigade announced this evening that it attacked a column of the terrorist military force, which had come to reinforce its positions from the town of Byahtsu in Karen State, resulting in casualties.
The KNLA-allied PDF force attacked the convoy with a landmine as it departed from Bawsathsu town via Rae Pyu village at around half past three yesterday.
A responsible officer of the Rakhine Tiger Battalion said " They carried their dead and wounded away immediately. The battle lasted for about an hour. After the mine was detonated, there was small-arms fire exchanged. There was artillery support. They immediately evacuated their dead and wounded. When we cleared the area, we recovered items that could not be carried away by vehicle due to the heavy damage," he said.
The Navy Brigade reported that one naval officer and three soldiers were killed, and nine were injured during the battle.
The attack was carried out in cooperation between the Navy Brigade and the KNLA's Battalion 27.
