Around 10-15 armed cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) killed two members of a family, identified as Chatur alias Chapoy Hembram (60) and his son Arjun Hembram (28), accusing them as ‘Police informers’ holding a 'jan adalat' (people's court of the Maoists) at Bajnor Tola under Chakai Police Station area in Jamui District of Bihar late on August 25 night, reports The Times of India.Chatur’s wife Nanhaki Marandi said, both father and son were brutally assaulted with wooden sticks before they were gunned down by the armed squad members. Police recovered the bodies of the deceased, and hand written pamphlets in which the banned outfit warned of a similar action against others working as ‘Police informers’. One live cartridge and a few used cartridges were recovered from the spot. The reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, Jamui Superintendent of police (SP), in-charge, Rakesh Kumar said, adding, the bodies were handed over to the family after post-mortem.
