Security Forces (SFs) comprising of Police, Army and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) killed three The Resistance Front (TRF) militants, identified as Faisal Fayaz, a resident of Kapren in Shopian District, Ghulam Mustafa Sheikh, a resident of Tekipura in Kupwara District and Rameez Ahmad Ghanie, a resident of Zipor Dharamati in Shopian District in an encounter during a joint Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) at Pethseer area in Sopore area of Baramulla District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on August 24, reports Daily Excelsior. SFs have recovered one AK 47 rifle and two pistols and ammunition from the location. The slain militants were part of groups involved in several militancy related incidents including attacks on security establishments and civilians, said Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir, Vijay Kumar.
