SAA event in Shkodër County, Shkodër area, Albania on Sat 11th July 2026

A 40-year-old man was shot several times with a firearm while travelling in his vehicle on a mountain road. The perpetrators appeared to have waited for him in a remote road segment and used the darkness and lack of cameras to attack him. The man died at the scene, and investigators were working to identify and arrest the perpetrator or perpetrators. Police suspected that the killing may have been linked to revenge over an earlier murder involving the victim’s brother. On 12 July 2026, police seized 25 automatic firearm cartridge casings at the scene, all fired from the same weapon, and investigators indicated that the perpetrator or perpetrators had ambushed the victim.
