Mizzima: A military officer was injured in a landmine attack on a police station in Insein Township, Yangon Region, a Yangon Army (YA) official told Mizzima.
The security gate of the Insein Police Station, located next to the Lower Mingalar Don Road in Insein Township, was attacked at around 7:30 p.m. yesterday (July 21).
“Last night, the power went out and it was raining, so we were afraid that the equipment would malfunction. But we were able to do it successfully. We found one of the animals had fallen. We don’t know the details yet this morning,” said a YA unit official.
It was reported that the attack involved two high-intensity hand grenades attached to a security gate in front of the Insein police station.
After the attack, military forces conducted roadblock inspections.
Mizzima has not been able to independently confirm the incident and the extent of the damage caused by the YA forces' attack on the military regime forces at the Insein police station.
Military propaganda Telegram channels are spreading false news about the attack on Insein Police Station last night.
The urban activities of the YA, an urban guerrilla force based in Yangon, were briefly calmed after a comrade of the YA was captured by the military in February.
“At the end of two months, a YA comrade was arrested while trading goods. He was arrested and tortured during interrogation, and died. The rest of the comrades were also on the run,” said a YA unit official.
However, it has been announced that it is currently operating normally and will resume urban attacks.
“We would like to ask you to stay tuned and stay tuned that the Western District PKK and YA will join hands and attack the Dog Group (military group) in Yangon as before,” he said.
In Yangon, which is controlled by a quasi-civilian military administration, the military has tightened security with large numbers of troops, but attacks by urban guerrilla forces are still frequent.
