Mizzima.. The military column that killed the People's Defense Force (PDF) soldiers in Chauk Township, Magway Division, was entering the Seik Phyu-Saw road in two military vehicles when it fired on them with mines, killing five and seriously wounding seven.

The Northern Saik Phyu People's Defense Force announced today (July 16) that the military column leaving through Chauk was attacked by the revolutionary joint forces with mines on July 15.

“We learned about it through internal intelligence reports. Our comrades also witnessed the shooting,” an official from the Saip Phyu Northern People’s Defense Force told Mizzima.

Mizzima has not been able to confirm the number of casualties. Today (July 16), more than 50 military, police and Pyu Saw Htee troops arrived at the scene of the incident and are reportedly entering nearby villages in a military formation.

The attack was carried out jointly by the Northern People's Defense Force (NSP) and the Pakokku District No. 4 Battalion, Company (3).

Furthermore, the NSP PKK urges the public to continue to provide support without holding back, as it needs the public's help to continue carrying out such attacks and achieve victory.

Twenty revolutionary comrades from Magway district were killed in a clash that took place near Taungtha village, Chauk Township, Magway Division on July 10. The NUG Ministry of Defense (MOD) also posted an image of 20 white stars on a black background on its social media page, with the caption, “We bow to the martyrs of the fallen comrades from Magway district.”
