A CONTROLLED explosion was carried out today following the discovery of what police described as 'several ordnances' at a property in Wirral.
Police were called to Princes Boulevard, Bebington shortly after 3.05pm on Monday (July 20) to reports antique weapons and ammunition had been located inside a house.
A full search took place and a number of items recovered.
A Merseyside Police statement read: "The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) attended today (Tuesday 21 July) to assess and remove several ordnances, and controlled explosions were carried out on Leasowe beach.
"The scene has now been stood down."
