Hitmen abducted Nacho Castrejón, former mayor of Sombrerete, Zacatecas, from his home, stripped him naked, tortured him, and executed him.

The former mayor of Sombrerete , Ignacio “ Nacho ” Castrejón Valdéz, was found dead Saturday morning beside Federal Highway 45 , just hours after being kidnapped by a group of hitmen . The discovery mobilized security forces in the area bordering the municipalities of Saín Alto and Sombrerete .

Castrejón Valdéz, who also worked as a businessman in the construction industry, governed the municipality of Sombrerete during the period 2016-2018 after leading the coalition formed by the National Action Party ( PAN ) and the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD).

According to sources linked to the National Action Party, the former mayor had been violently abducted from his own home by unknown individuals in the last few hours.
