In Znamenivka, Donetsk region, Russian forces struck a civilian car. The attack killed two elderly people and injured three others.

This was reported by the Prosecutor's Office of the Donetsk region.

"On July 21, 2026, at 1:25 p.m., Russian troops attacked the village of Znamenivka, Oleksandrivska community. A car carrying civilians was hit. A 76-year-old local resident and a 68-year-old woman died on the spot," the report says.

Also, according to the prosecutor's office, three people were injured. Two women and a man were provided with medical assistance.

A pre-trial investigation has been initiated in criminal proceedings on the fact of a war crime (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
