Police arrest five suspects over attempted murder, public disturbance in Ogun

Police have arrested five suspects over the alleged attempted murder of a resident and disturbance of public peace in Ipara Community, Ogun State.

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on July 18 after the Baale of Ipara Community, Chief Bolaji Olabode, reported that a group of youths had been causing unrest and attacked one Joel Olabide with a cutlass.

Acting on the report, a team of police officers was immediately deployed to the scene, where they arrested five suspects identified as Odunayo Afolabi, 17; Biola Bamgbose, 37; Michael Kosoko, 32; Aina Amos Edun, 32; and Kehinde Omolade, 22. Other suspects reportedly fled before the arrival of the police.

The victim was rescued and rushed to a hospital for treatment, while normalcy has since been restored to the community.

Police said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects, while investigation into the incident is in progress.
