Three herders killed, two injured in alleged attack by Berom militia in Plateau community

Three young herders were killed and two others injured in an alleged attack by suspected Berom militia in Tanjol village, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, on Sunday.

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the victims were grazing their cattle between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. when they came under attack by armed assailants.

The deceased were identified as Abdurrazak Abdullahi, 22; Husaini Idris, 23; and Yusuf Tukur, 19, while Ayuba Adam and Sadi Adamu sustained injuries and were evacuated for medical treatment.

Sources said one cow was killed while another sustained gunshot wounds during the incident.

The attack has heightened tension in the area, with calls for security agencies to carry out a thorough and impartial investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the killings and bring those responsible to justice.
