A former law enforcement officer was found dead in the Poltava region. According to preliminary data, the man's death may have been a suicide.

Literally : "On July 16, at around 10:40, the police received a report of the death of a 44-year-old man at his place of residence in the Karlivska community of the Poltava district."

Details : Law enforcement officials reported that during the initial investigation, it was determined that the deceased was a former law enforcement officer.

"According to preliminary data, the man's death may have been a suicide. A forensic medical examination has been ordered to determine the cause of death," the report says.

According to Interfax-Ukraine, the person in question is the former head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Sumy region, Serhiy Chyzh, who was found with a gunshot wound.

The police investigation unit has initiated criminal proceedings under Article 115 (intentional murder with a note of suicide) of the Criminal Code. Necessary investigative actions are underway to establish the circumstances of the incident.
