A huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from a Guwahati-bound vehicle near Byrnihat police outpost in Ri-Bhoi District of Meghalaya on August 20, reports Northeast Now. During a search operation, the vehicle was initially signaled to stop at Umsning, but the driver of the vehicle evaded the police by speeding, following which a police team pursued the vehicle and later on arrested the driver with the explosives loaded vehicle at Byrnihat. 2,000 IEDs and over 4,000 gelatin sticks were recovered from the car.|
