Grenade event in Jammu & Kashmir, Baramulla District area, India on Sun 22nd August 2021

Militants lobbed a grenade towards the residence of Sarpanch identified as Narinder Kour at Shakwara in Kreeri area in Baramulla District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on August 22, reports Daily Excelsior. There was no casualty or injury in the explosion.|Police identified three Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) militants killed in an encounter with Security Forces (SFs) in the upper reaches of forest area of Nagaberan Dhoka area of Tral in Pulwama District of J&K on August 21 as Wakeel Ahmad Shah, a resident of Bagandar Tral, Abdul Hamid Chopan and Illyas Najar of Khellan in Pulwama District of J&K, reports Daily Excelsior. Wakeel Ahmad Shah was one of the top 10 most wanted militants in Kashmir and the list was recently issued by Police and was involved in the killing of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader Rakesh Pandita in 2021 and other civilians. SFs recovered two AK-47 rifles, one Self Loading Rifle (SLR), magazines and a Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) were recovered from the slain militants, said Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir, Vijay Kumar.|Army has stepped up patrolling on the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri and Poonch Districts of J&K after intelligence agencies alert issued recently about large scale infiltration attempts by militants in the near future and increase in their movement and presence on launch pads, reports Greater Kashmir on August 22.
