An army unit raided the homes of wanted individuals in the areas of Laylaki, Jammous, and the old airport road in the southern suburbs, arresting five citizens for firing weapons during a funeral procession on July 14, 2026. A quantity of weapons and ammunition was seized from them. During the raid, the unit's personnel came under fire and returned fire, resulting in the injury of one of the wanted individuals, who was transported to a hospital for treatment. The seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities, and an investigation was launched with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
