U Than Lwin, a man in his 40s who went out to work in his fields on the evening of 13 July, reportedly died at the scene after stepping on a landmine in a field outside Sanday village.

A bystander said, ‘It happened as he was walking into his own field. He was covered in injuries and died instantly. It's the same path he always takes.’
