Undefined Explosive Device (UED) event in Chümoukedima area, India on Mon 13th July 2026

The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has strongly condemned the July 13 bomb blast near the Assam Rifles Training Centre and School at Chümoukedima, which claimed the life of an Assam Rifles personnel and left several others injured.

In a statement, the Federation conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased and prayed for the speedy and complete recovery of those injured in the attack.

The NSF described the incident as an attempt to reintroduce violence and bloodshed into the prevailing atmosphere of peace and stability that has been painstakingly nurtured in the Naga homeland over the years. It said the attack came at a time when the Naga people continue to aspire for a future founded on peace, dialogue, mutual respect and an honourable political settlement.

The Federation cautioned against vested interests and outside elements seeking to exploit the Naga homeland as a theatre for violence, instability and the pursuit of agendas that have no place in Naga society. It observed that the Naga people have already endured decades of conflict and paid an immeasurable price in terms of lives lost, suffering and missed opportunities.
