Someone shot at a window in Klockaretorpet in Norrköping on Wednesday evening. No one was injured. On Thursday morning, the police announced that a man had been arrested and later detained on suspicion of the crime.

– We believe that someone had the intention to take someone else's life, says police spokesperson Martina Gradian.

At 10:15 p.m., an alarm was received about loud bangs in the Klockaretorpet district in southwest Norrköping. Once on scene, the police were able to determine that someone had fired shots at a window.

– It is an apartment window in an apartment building. I do not want to go into whether there was anyone at home in the apartment in question, says Martina Gradian at the police.

Big effort – appeal for help

During Wednesday evening and night, a major operation was underway in the area.

– On the one hand, we have a large cordon on the site so as not to destroy any traces that could lead us to a perpetrator. On the other hand, we are collecting witness information, knocking on doors and talking to people in the area, says Martina Gradian.

Patrols also searched nearby areas and stopped and checked people and vehicles. All camera surveillance near the crime scene will be inventoried.
