Air Delivered event in Natmauk, Kanlay Kone area, Myanmar on Tue 14th July 2026

Locals reported that a school in Natmauk Township, Magway Region, was attacked by the military on the afternoon of July 14, killing one student and injuring many others.

A local monk from Shwekan Myay said, “The Kanlay Kone village school in the eastern part of Natmauk was attacked by airstrikes at around 1 pm, killing one student, injuring eight others, and damaging the school building and four nearby houses. Innocent children who were studying were harmed and killed.”

Maung Phyo Wai Oo, a Grade 7 student studying at the school, was killed during the bombing, and one of the eight injured students is in critical condition with a broken leg.

Ko Saik, the head of the Nakhon Si Thammarat Party (NSP), told DVB that the military fired on the village school with an Mi-35 attack helicopter without any fighting taking place.

“It is understood that the Mi-35 took off from Nyaung U Airport. In addition to rockets, it also fired with point-blank fire. There was no fighting. Also, there was no pressure from our side on the non-CDM education staff at that school. I don’t know how they got the wrong information and left.”

He added that the military dictatorship is frequently carrying out airstrikes on schools, monasteries and villages, including those that are not military-related, by deploying military lines to the eastern part of Natmauk Township, causing casualties among innocent civilians.

The revolutionary forces have urged local residents in the eastern part of Natmauk Township to be cautious due to the military's airstrikes and the dangers of ground warfare.
