Locals reported that three people, including a pregnant woman, were killed in an airstrike by the military on the evening of July 14 in Arayataw Township, Sagaing Region.

A spokesperson for the True News Network, Roang Ni Nwe Oo, said, “Just before 4 p.m., the military dropped three gyrocopters and three bombs on a tea shop in Kan Ring village in the southeastern part of Arawataw Township, killing a pregnant woman and her unborn child on the spot. One man died while receiving medical treatment. Another man is still receiving treatment for serious injuries.”

It is said that the airstrikes were carried out without any reason, even though there was no fighting going on in the villages.

A Monywa-based revolutionary soldier told DVB, “The three gyrocopters took off from the Monywa Namkha and dropped bombs in the direction of Aya Taw. After dropping bombs, they did not return to their original position and were still circling the villages in the Monywa area as if they were conducting reconnaissance.”

He added that the military dictatorship is committing war crimes every day by launching airstrikes against civilian villages that are not military targets.

Aryataw Township is located in Monywa District, and the revolutionary forces have urged local residents in Monywa District, including Aryataw Township, to be especially aware of the military's airstrikes.
