Air Delivered event in Pin Tha Chay area, Myanmar on Tue 14th July 2026

Locals reported that the military repeatedly dropped drones and bombs on a monastery housing displaced people in Innaw Township, Sagaing Region, on July 11 and 14, damaging the monastery buildings and injuring others.

A local resident said, “The military bombed a monastery in Pinthachay village, located on the Shwebo-Myitkyina highway southwest of Innaw, in Maeza region, where displaced people live, with drones. The monastery buildings were damaged and there were injuries. The school buildings and some homes at the top of the village were also damaged.”

The military said that around 1:00 p.m. on July 11, around 6 bombs were dropped by drones on the monastery, injuring some civilians and displaced people.

He added that another drone bombing attack took place around 2 p.m. on July 14, damaging a monastery, a school building, and some homes, but causing no injuries.

On the evening of July 3, the military column that clashed with the revolutionary forces entered and encamped in Mae Za San Pya village, southwest of Inn Taw.

On July 4, they entered the nearby villages of Nantthae and Alay Seik, looted public property, burned down some homes, and bombed Pinthachae village with drones.

A revolutionary soldier based in Intaw Township told DVB, “The fighting has calmed down recently, but the enemy has returned to Intaw township, so we can’t say when the fighting will resume. I think the drones that bombed the Pinthachae Monastery are just a sign that they want to control the territory, and they are attacking us because they think we are stationed at the monastery.”

Since June 30, the Shwebo-Myitkyina highway has been closed for nearly two weeks due to fierce fighting between the revolutionary forces and the military on the Innaw-Katha road. The roads have been reopened since the morning of July 14, but the revolutionary forces have urged travelers to be careful as fighting could break out again at any time.
