Undefined Explosive Device (UED) event in Hässelby area, Sweden on Wed 15th July 2026

An explosion occurred at an apartment building in Hässelby in northwest Stockholm on Wednesday night.

– A major effort is underway to search for the person or persons who committed the crime, says Per Fahlström at the police.

Rescue services, police and ambulance were called to the address in Hässelby Gård shortly after midnight.

– We received several calls from people who heard a loud bang. At the scene we can confirm that there was an explosion at a gate, says Per Fahlström, police spokesperson.

A glass window in the entrance door was broken as a result of the impact. There are no reports of any injuries.

Chasing perpetrator

The police have blocked off the scene pending a technical examination.

During the night, a major operation was underway in the area.

– We have many patrols in place to look for the person or persons who committed the crime, says Per Fahlström at the police.

Among other things, a dog patrol and a helicopter have been involved in the search.

The police have launched a preliminary investigation into serious unlawful threats and violations of the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods.
