Troops, Police Rescue Three Kidnap Victims, Neutralise Two Suspects in Edo

Troops of the 322 Artillery Regiment, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police and local vigilantes, have rescued three kidnapped victims and neutralised two suspected kidnappers during a clearance operation in Esan Local Government Area of Edo State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation followed a reported kidnap incident at Ambrose Alli University on July 13.

The sources said the joint security team tracked the kidnappers to their hideout in Esan LGA, where they engaged the suspects in a gun battle.

During the operation, two of the suspected kidnappers were neutralised, while three abducted victims were rescued unharmed.

The troops also recovered three AK-47 rifles, 39 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, three mobile phones and two power banks from the scene.

The rescued victims have been reunited with their families, while security agencies are continuing efforts to apprehend other members of the criminal gang who escaped during the operation.
