Power outage hits Russian-occupied Sevastopol: witnesses report explosion at Balaklava Thermal Power Plant.

Part of Russian-occupied Sevastopol has been left without electricity after a strike on the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant. The Russian occupation authorities have said that "energy infrastructure facilities" came under attack.

Details: Razvozhayev said that part of the city had been left without electricity following the attack.

He noted that a special operating regime has been introduced at energy infrastructure facilities.

Razvozhayev also urged residents to conserve their phone batteries, use electronic devices only for emergency communications and switch off as many electrical appliances as possible to avoid overloading the power grid.

Krymsky Veter reported that the power outage in Sevastopol may have been caused by a strike on the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant.

According to the reports, a jet-powered drone or a missile flew towards the power plant, followed by an explosion at 04:10 and a white cloud of smoke rising into the air.

The strike was accompanied by a bright flash, after which the electricity supply was cut.

Buses on routes that normally pass the power plant have been temporarily diverted.
