On 10 July 2026, Russian forces (units of the 'South' group using operational-tactical aviation, combat UAVs, missile forces, and artillery) struck the Ukrainian personnel and equipment, including a territorial defense brigade (coded to Mykolaipillia) near Vasylivska Pustosh, Donetsk. According to Russian sources, Ukrainian military lost: a tank, an armored combat vehicle, 33 vehicles, a field artillery gun and up to 215 Ukrainian servicemen were killed near Mykolaipillia, Izhevka, Vasylivska Pustosh, Viroliubivka, Orikhuvatka, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka and Mykolayivka [Russian MoD reported 216 fatalities.
