On 6 July 2026, Al Shabaab fired four 107mm rockets targeting the Presidential Compound in Baidoa town (Baydhaba, Bay). The rockets landed at multiple locations across the town. One rocket exploded in front of the Horyal Hotel, two landed near the main police station, and one struck a residential house in the Holwadaag neighborhood of Baidoa. Al Shabaab claimed to have killed 3 soldiers, including 2 AUSSOM ENDF soldiers.
