The Police and Paramilitary Forces during a special anti-Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] operation recovered 14 landmines from Dalma hills under Bodam Police Station area in East Singhbhum District of Jharkhand on August 7 evening,reports The Telegraph. Superintendent of Police (SP), Subhash Chandra Jat, confirmed about the recovery of the landmines from Dalma hills, and stated, "During a special operation in Dalma hills, the police and paramilitary forces detected landmines Bodam thana area of the hills. There were in all 14 landmines, weighing six kgs each, suspected to have been planted by the outlawed naxal outfit CPI (Maoist) [Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist)] targetting the paramilitary forces. " Later, all the Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) have been safely defused.
