On 6 July 2026, in Ka Htu Chaung village (Paungbyin township, Mawlaik district, Sagaing region), the Myanmar military conducted airstrikes and dropped two bombs at the Ka Yar gold mine area with two fighter jets that came from Homalin airbase around 11 am without an armed clash occurring. Some locals who were working in gold mines were injured.
