On 8 July 2026, the Malian army conducted airstrikes, destroying a gathering point used by armed groups (likely JNIM, based on the presence of the militant group in the area and its previous similar operations in the region) in the area of Boulkessi (Mondoro, Douentza, Mopti). The Malian army stated that the gathering point was used by militants as a logistical base and to treat their wounded leaders during attacks in the AES countries. Casualties unknown.
