Shwe Phyi Myay, 6 July, Pauk

The Magwe Region People's Defence Force (PDF) issued a statement yesterday, 5th July, reporting that the military junta had killed 11 civilians, including PDF members, in Kyaukkyo Village, Pauk Township.

It is said that the evidence of the military council's massacre of PDF members and civilians was found on captured soldiers after revolutionary forces attacked and captured Kyauk Kyi village.

The statement from the Magwe Region PDF said that the junta arrested 13 people near Kyakkoe Village, including two PDF members and two others whose identities have not yet been confirmed, and killed nine of them.

Evidence was found that two of those killed had been burnt alive by the junta forces, while the remaining six were reportedly beaten and released after being bailed out by members of the pro-junta People's Militia. Two members of the Pauk PDF were also arrested and killed by pro-junta Pyu Saw Oo militia.

The revolutionary forces were able to attack and capture the police station in Yebyay and the Pyusawadi village of Kyakkyu Sittou on the 4th of June.

The PDF of Magwe Region stated that the captured prisoners of war, including six members of the Council's police force who defected during the battle, are being well cared for.
