Grenade event in Assam, Dhansiri, Karbi Anglong District area, India on Mon 29th June 2026

On June 29, unidentified miscreants 30 allegedly hurled a grenade at an under-construction railway project at Rongaphar Siding in the Dhansiri area along the Assam–Nagaland border in Karbi Anglong District of Assam, though the device failed to explode, India TodayNE reports. Consequently, no casualties or damage to infrastructure were reported. Following the incident, Police rushed to the site and launched an investigation into the attack. Security Forces (SFs) are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and working to identify those responsible. Authorities have not disclosed any motive behind the attempted attack, and no individual or outfit has claimed responsibility. Further investigation is underway.
