On June 29, Taliban clashed with residents in Lashkar Gah area of Helmand city over a land dispute, with residents reportedly throwing stones at Taliban fighters and their vehicles, reports Hasht-e Subh. Taliban have forcibly evicted residents from their homes in and are distributing their land, under the designation of “martyrs,” among Taliban members and suicide bombers. Residents said they have lived on the land for decades, but the Taliban are now using tanks to force them from their homes, ignoring their protests.
