Other MoA event in Patuakhali District, Kalaiya Port, Baufal Sub-District area, Bangladesh on Sat 27th June 2026

On June 27, at least 15 Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leaders and activists were injured in a clash centred on a protest march against the banned Awami League in the Riaz Molla Shopping Mall and Daspara Bus Stand area of Kalaiya Port in Baufal Upazila (Sub-District) of Patuakhali District, reports Prothom Alo. At least 20 motorcycles were vandalised during the incident. According to reports, a protest march against Awami League was taken out under leadership of Daspara Union BNP President and Upazila (Sub-District) BNP Convening Committee member Ali Azam Chowdhury. When the march reached Riaz Molla Shopping Mall area around 8 pm, fertiliser trader Abdul Hai was attacked. Later, a group of people led by Abdul Hai with machetes and sticks attacked BNP leaders and activists participating in the march in Daspara bus stand area.
