Five people were injured after unidentified assailants attacked first on the residence of Awami National Party (ANP)’s District vice-president Malik Mumtaz Khan in the Shakardara area of Matta tehsil (revenue unit) in Swat District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on July 5, and then the ambulance taking the injured to hospital, reports The Khyber Chronicle. According to Matta Police Station officials, the firing on the ambulance transporting the injured left a rescue worker wounded. The family of Malik Mumtaz Khan has previously suffered heavily from militant violence. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
