On July 5, Security Forces (SFs) arrested an individual with a pistol along with five live cartridges during routine patrolling in the border area of Naraina village near Khour in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. The accused, identified as Ikhlaq Ahmed, a resident of Tangdhar in Kupwara District of J&K, was detained after police noticed him moving under suspicious circumstances during naka checking. A search led to the recovery of the weapon and ammunition, following which he was arrested on the spot. Police have registered a case under relevant sections and initiated an investigation into his movement towards the Line of Control (LoC) area.
