On July 5, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader Nasirul Biswas (45) was shot and injured in an attack in the Hardinge Bridge area of Balughat in Bheramara Upazila (Sub-District) of Kushtia District, reports Prothom Alo. According to Police, Nasirul went to the Hardinge Bridge area to sell sand, where some masked men armed with weapons demanded money from him for selling sand, and as Nasirul refused to pay the money, they got into an argument.
