Air Delivered event in Rakhine, Maungdaw Township area, Myanmar on Thu 2nd July 2026
2nd July 2026
The government junta forces of Myanmar are carrying out continuous airstrikes targeting the positions of the Arakan Army (AA) in Maungdaw Township of Rakhine State in Myanmar, and sound of bombing and shelling from warplanes throughout the night is impacting the border areas of Teknaf and Ukhiya Upazilas (Sub-Districts) in the Cox's Bazar District, reports Prothom Alo on July 2. As the conflict intensifies, there is a fear of new infiltration of Rohingyas into Bangladesh. In this situation, patrols of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Coast Guard have been strengthened along the Naf River and the border. Ukhia-64 BGB Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Zahirul Islam said, "Although airstrikes were heard inside Rakhine last night, no such incident occurred from this morning to this afternoon. The border situation is being kept under strict surveillance. Additional patrols are being given on the Naf River to prevent Rohingya infiltration. There has been no incident of gunfire or infiltration on the border till this afternoon."
