In the ongoing clashes at the border of Rakhine State and Ayeyarwady Region The AA has stated that after repeatedly losing military outposts, the military attacked civilian residential areas in Gwa town, which were not military targets, from the air and by sea, injuring six civilians.
From approximately 7:04 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on 8 July, the military attacked civilian residential areas in Gwa town that were not military targets, using air and sea assets, injuring six civilians. They reportedly circled back and forth in four vehicles, firing some 87 rounds of artillery non-stop.
As a result of the shelling, some of the artillery shells hit Noe Ma Da, 45, Noe Than May, 74, and Ma Ratana Than, 5, from Ward No. 3, Kyintali Township, Kyaukpyu District. U Nyo Tun, 48, Ma Thinzin Thun, 17, and Ma Myint Wai, 50, were also injured, and several homes were reportedly damaged by artillery fire.
