Ukrainian drones strike oil pipeline control station in Bashkortostan, 1,500 km from Ukraine.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) carried out a successful strike on the Cherkasy oil pipeline control station in Ufa, Russia's Republic of Bashkortostan, on the night of 7-8 July.

Details: The facility is located approximately 1,500 km from Ukraine's state border. The operation was conducted as part of the objective set by the president of Ukraine to systematically reduce Russia's military and economic potential.

The SSU said at least eight of its drones struck the facility. The attack caused a fire in the tank farm area and at the station's production facilities.

Videos and photos published by Russian users on social media also indicate that the facility was hit.

The Cherkasy oil pipeline control station is one of the key facilities in the Transneft-Ural pipeline system. The station receives, stores and pumps refined petroleum products from the Ufa oil refining hub into the main product pipeline network. Nearly 2 million tonnes of petroleum products pass through the facility each year, and its tank farm consists of 27 storage tanks with a total capacity of more than 385,000 cubic metres.

Background: On 25 June, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he has approved a 40-day influence operation by the SSU targeting Russia to push it towards ending the war.
