Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 | Near the chaos unleashed by the new offensive of the JNIM/FLA coalition in Mali 🇲🇱, northern Burkina Faso is also suffering immense pressure from JNIM. ➡️ Since the clashes of June 30 (listed below), around ten Burkinabè localities have been attacked by the terrorist group, including seven coordinated attacks on July 4 alone ⚠️

🔶 On July 2, JNIM seized control of two Burkinabè Forces positions in the locality of Titao, located in Loroum province.

🔸The following day, Kaya province was hit by two attacks on the village of Tougouri and a VDP post in Silmagué. ❗The human and material toll of these three attacks cannot be verified at this time.

🔷 On July 4th, at least seven attacks were recorded in the northern regions of the country, including three targeting VDP barracks in Ouahigouya, Thiou, and Séguénéga, now under the effective control of JNIM.

🔹 JNIM also claimed responsibility for an attack on a military barracks in Di, in the Dédougou area, in the heart of the Mouhoun River loop region. ❗The assault reportedly resulted in the deaths of around twenty soldiers from the 29th Rapid Intervention Brigade (BIR29), while a significant cache of light weapons and motorcycles was recovered by the terrorist organization (📸 on the map).

🔹 JNIM also claimed responsibility for attacks on military positions in Dala and Tiera. Here too, at least 18 VDP members were reportedly killed during the offensives, and several dozen weapons and rounds of ammunition were recovered.
