Several residents of Kristineberg in Borås woke up on Tuesday night to a front door being shot at. After a major police operation, two young people were arrested on suspicion of aggravated weapons offenses.

It was at 3 a.m. on Tuesday that the police received an alarm about banging and broken glass at an address in Kristineberg in Borås. When the patrol arrived at the scene, they found a front door with broken glass and an apartment door inside the building with several bullet holes in it.

– There are initial witness reports that two people were seen in the stairwell. They were later found during a check in the immediate area, says Emelie Lundqvist, police spokesperson.

Two minors have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated weapons offenses. A 15-year-old boy has been detained while a younger boy has been released. However, he remains a suspect.

– It is too early to say whether there is any connection to gang crime, says Emelie Lundqvist.

Woke up to the bangs

Several residents in the area were awakened during the night by the loud bangs.

– It's not fun for someone who lives here, it makes you feel a little unsafe, says Kristijan Aleksic.

The site was cordoned off for a technical investigation.

No one was injured in the incident. The police cannot answer whether the apartment owner of the affected apartment was at home.
