On 2 July 2026, in Kyein Chaung village (Maungdaw township, Maungdaw district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military conducted six airstrikes between 3:00 pm and 3:30 pm. The military dropped six 500-lb bombs with two jet fighters and dropped 27 bombs with a Y-12 aircraft on the Kyein Chaung detention facility, which is operated by the Arakan Army (AA) near the Bangladesh border. The airstrike killed 4 captives, including a military captain serving as a medical officer and 3 Rohingya militia group members. 4 fatalities.
